Champions League, 13–14 October 2026: What the Weekend Changes Before City–PSG

United drew with ten-man Spurs. City won 3–0 at Anfield. Tuesday at 22:00 Moscow is Atlético–United. Wednesday at the same hour is City–PSG.

City just won 3–0 at Anfield. United just drew 1–1 at home with ten-man Tottenham. Arsenal just came from behind to beat Leeds. Barcelona just won 3–0, Madrid just won 1–0 with ten men, Bayern just drew 2–2 after conceding inside ten seconds. That is the weekend these clubs bring into Champions League matchday 2, which starts Tuesday 13 October and finishes Wednesday 14 October. The kickoffs do not move because the league games were dramatic. They stay where UEFA put them.

There are two bands. 18:45 CEST is 19:45 Moscow. 21:00 CEST is 22:00 Moscow. Britain is still on summer time, so 22:00 MSK is 20:00 in London and 21:00 in Madrid, Paris and Rome. No third slot is hiding in the list. If a preview says “Tuesday night” and does not give an hour, it is not a preview.

Tuesday, and why United’s draw matters

The early pair at 19:45 MSK is Lens vs Sporting and Sabah vs Slavia Prague. Lens at Bollaert-Delelis is the better of the two if you want a ground that affects the game. Sabah being in the league phase at all is still the fact. Neither of these is the tie of the night. They are the matches that can be in the second half before you have picked a 22:00 stream.

At 22:00 MSK the card is the one that collides with the weekend. Atlético Madrid vs Manchester United at the Metropolitano is the collision. United did not win on Saturday. Mbeumo scored, Bentancur was sent off for Spurs, Solanke equalised in stoppage time. That is a point taken and a point dropped, and it is not a rest. Atlético won 2–1 at Alavés with a Romero header in the 87th minute, also after the home side went to ten men. Both clubs arrive in Madrid having played a full league match on Saturday and having had to manage a red card that was not their own problem in the same way. Atlético’s red card was the opponent’s. United’s was the opponent’s too. The tiredness is still theirs.

Simeone’s Atlético at home in this competition is still a specific night. The game is often decided by what the away side does when it does not have the ball, for long stretches, in a stadium that is not interested in a friendly atmosphere. We are not publishing a predicted lineup. United’s squad news will move between now and Tuesday because of the Bentancur incident’s aftermath on the United side of the pitch — Shaw was the player headbutted, not the player sent off — and because coaches lie, delay and rotate. Check the club channels on the day. The board will still say 22:00.

Arsenal vs Lille is the same kickoff, Emirates. Arsenal’s 2–1 over Leeds was a comeback, not a stroll, and it was the early Saturday game, so they have had more hours than United. That is an advantage and it is not a holiday. Lille are good at leaving London with a draw when the home side starts as if the league phase owes them a win. Arsenal are level with the idea of a title race after Saturday and behind City after Sunday. A home European game is where that mood either settles or gets punctured.

Galatasaray vs Barcelona, RAMS Park, 22:00 MSK. Barcelona’s league week was the 3–0 against Getafe: Anthony Gordon’s first goal for the club, then Gabriel Jesus, then Jules Koundé, in the BBC and AFP accounts. A line that turns that into nine wins from nine across every competition is more than we are printing. Istanbul is the away game that makes a good league week look ordinary if you drop points. The crowd is not a line for the second paragraph. It is the reason this is on the main card.

Inter against Club Brugge is at San Siro, same hour. Inter’s Saturday was Parma; we did not store a Serie A score, because we did not have a line we were ready to cite. Do not invent one from a prediction thread. The European row is Brugge. San Siro at night is not a result.

Viking against Bayern, Lyse Arena, Stavanger, 22:00 MSK. Bayern’s Saturday was the 2–2 in Augsburg, the eight-second goal, the Neuer error, the draw that kept Dortmund above them on the accounts we read. Tuesday in Norway is a worse assignment than it looks on a graphic that just says “Bayern away”. Viking’s season already includes a two-goal comeback in Zagreb in the play-off. They are not a bye.

Leipzig–PSV and Villarreal–Napoli are the other 22:00 ties. Villarreal were beaten 1–0 at the Bernabéu on Saturday and will be angry. Napoli’s league score from Saturday is not on this board. The ceramic stadium is still a better watch than the billing suggests.

Wednesday is City, and it is also Roma

The early Wednesday games, 19:45 MSK, are Feyenoord–Como at De Kuip and LASK vs Liverpool in Linz. Liverpool are coming off a 3–0 home defeat and a red card. The temptation in every preview will be to talk about who does not travel. The league phase still takes the points if you treat Linz as a shadow fixture. LASK are not a friendly. Celtic had to take them seriously in the play-offs. Liverpool do not get a free night because Anfield went wrong.

Manchester City vs Paris Saint-Germain is Wednesday at 22:00 MSK, Etihad. City’s league week was the Anfield win, three goals after the sending-off, and the noise around the financial case that Sky reported and the club is appealing. PSG do not have a Premier League Sunday. They have a Wednesday against the English side most likely to treat them as a rival rather than a poster. No score prediction. The row will show 22:00 and then, for two hours, a live state. A number lands when the match is over and the result is in a report we can point at.

Roma vs Real Madrid is the same hour at the Olimpico. Madrid’s weekend was the 1–0 over Villarreal and Vinícius’s red card for the hair pull, in AFP’s account. They may be without him, or they may not, depending on the suspension rules for that competition and that competition only. Do not assume a La Liga red card is automatically a European ban. Check it. What is safe to say is that Madrid played Saturday night, finished with ten men, and have a shorter turnaround than a side that played on Friday. Roma’s Sunday trip to Como is a kinder clock. The Olimpico at 21:00 local time is still a league-phase game. A draw has a number. It is not a moral victory.

Aston Villa–Fenerbahçe is at Villa Park, 22:00 MSK. Villa drew 2–2 with Brentford on Saturday. Fenerbahçe’s summer already included the Lyon play-off. If City–PSG is cautious, this is the game that might not be.

Shakhtar against AEK Athens is also 22:00 MSK, and it is not in Donetsk. The matchday list places Shakhtar’s “home” game at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea play there in the league; they are not the opponent on Wednesday. If UEFA moves the ground, the match page should move with it.

Bodø/Glimt against Dortmund, Betis against Porto, and Slovan against Stuttgart complete the 22:00 list. Dortmund’s Friday score is not stored. Betis’s 5–2 against Osasuna is. A team that just put five past Osasuna at La Cartuja does not automatically do the same to Porto. October league-phase games at the bottom of the table do their damage quietly, and Slovan’s ground is one of those places.

How not to watch it badly

Monday night is Coventry and Levante at 22:00 MSK. Tuesday night is Europe. Do not leave the Monday stream on and assume the next kickoff is the same competition. The Tomorrow tab, opened on Monday, is the Champions League list. The league hub has the same matches without the domestic noise.

Flags on these rows are the country of the club: England for Arsenal, City, United, Liverpool and Villa; Spain for Atlético, Barcelona, Madrid, Villarreal and Betis; Germany for Bayern and Dortmund; France for Lens, Lille and PSG. None of them should be a Union Jack. That was a gb code. It is fixed.

If you keep five fixtures: Tuesday 22:00, Atlético–United and Arsenal–Lille. Wednesday 19:45, LASK–Liverpool. Wednesday 22:00, Roma–Madrid and City–PSG. The weekend those clubs just played is on Yesterday. The next Premier League weekend, 17–19 October, is a different article, because Forest–Arsenal and Leeds–United are not this midweek.

Sources checked 12 October 2026: UEFA’s matchday 2 list and kickoff bands, Sky and BBC for the Premier League weekend that feeds this midweek, AFP and BBC for Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético, the Guardian for the Augsburg–Bayern draw. Match pages carry the Moscow time. A change of kickoff belongs on the board when UEFA changes the list, not when a clip account does.
